About

I’ve been writing since I was five. No lie. It was 1995, and I entered a picture book I penned in crayon into a Reading Rainbow contest. That was my first rejection.

When I was a preteen, I flirted with the idea of becoming a Disney Channel star, but I preferred writing my own screenplays to performing someone else’s. (And, let’s be honest, Hilary Duff had already perfected the art.)

I spent high school passionately writing poetry and short stories and journaling and, you guessed it, reading everything written by Sylvia Plath. As goth as that sounds, my writing flourished during that time.

I tried one more time to skirt my true calling by entering college as a psychology major, but I quickly became the editor-in-chief of Rockhurst University’s literary journal and never looked back.

Now, I’m on this wonderful copywriting journey, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. (Look, Mom and Dad, I did something with my English degree!)
